Public Information Request

Gonzales Independent School District, as a local governmental entity, is subject to the requirements of the Texas Public Information Act.

All requests must be submitted in writing and should contain:

• Your name,
• Address,
• Phone number,
• Fax number, if available, and
• Description of the information and/or document being requested

*The Public Information Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 552), gives you the right to access government records; and an officer for public information and the officer’s agent may not ask why you want them. All government information is presumed to be available to the public. Certain exceptions may apply to the disclosure of the information. Governmental bodies shall promptly release requested information that is not confidential by law, either constitutional, statutory, or by judicial decision, or information for which an exception to disclosure has not been sought.

Grievance Process

At Gonzales ISD, we value open communication and want to make sure all concerns are handled quickly and fairly. If you ever have a question, complaint, or concern—whether you’re a parent, student, employee, or community member—we encourage you to start by reaching out at the campus or department level.

Our goal is always to resolve issues at the lowest possible level through open conversation. Most concerns can be addressed informally, but if a solution can’t be reached, you have the option to move forward through our formal grievance process. The first step of that process is known as a Level 1 Grievance, which allows you to share your concerns in writing so they can be reviewed and addressed appropriately.
