Amanda Reed Smith

A proud alumna of Gonzales High School, Amanda has served Gonzales ISD for over 13 years. Before assuming the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2016 after her mentor's retirement, Amanda served in various roles in the financial services office, most recently as the district's Business Manager. You may recognize her from her time spent serving the Gonzales community through the local Rotary Club (past secretary & interim treasurer) or from the choir loft of her childhood church.

When not at work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband (also a GHS graduate), two daughters, and Australian Shepherd. They regularly worship at the First United Methodist Church of Gonzales, where Amanda serves as the chairperson of the scholarship committee and shares her gift of music through singing and providing flute accompaniment - a skill she learned from Gonzales ISD.

Her husband and love of learning inspired her to pursue an MBA from her alma mater. While serving at Gonzales ISD, Amanda has earned many certifications in her field.

Amanda is proud of the fact that she gets to raise her family in the wonderful town she grew up in. To some, it may just be numbers, but she seeks every day to positively impact the district, community, and its people. She is excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve her hometown through the best career there is - public education!

Jessica Nerada

Jessica joined the Gonzales ISD Financial Services team as the Accounting Specialist in February 2022 and, while not a Gonzales native, she has served in the Gonzales community for over eight years. She came from GVEC, a local utility company, and brings with her an extensive dedication to customer service and a background in accounting from her career there. From 2014 to 2018, she served on the local Gonzales County Relay for Life team and coordinated riders for the GVEC bucket truck in the Come and Take It parades. She has also served our community through the Gonzales Herman Sons Dance committee (past treasurer).

She resides in Shiner with her two daughters, two dachshunds, and two cats. She enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, and traveling. She also serves at Shiner Baptist Church as a 1st-4th grade bible study teacher on Wednesday nights and a 4-5-year-old Sunday School teacher. Jessica coordinates the rotating schedule and volunteers in the nursery on Sundays. She is also currently the chairperson of the children’s ministry program.

Jessica is excited to bring her knowledge and excitement to learn new things to Gonzales ISD and to help the district, community, and its people to continue to have a strong financial stance to positively impact our children and their futures.

Ashley Wilke

Growing up just a town over, Ashley has been proud to call Gonzales home for the last 15 years. Ashley has served Gonzales ISD for over 8 years. In that time, she has been a Payroll Clerk, Accounting Specialist, Financial Supervisor, and currently serves as the Business Manager overseeing payroll, accounts payable and receivable, accounting, and data entry. Ashley also manages the district’s purchasing operations and assists the CFO and team where she can to help ensure our students and future community leaders are receiving an excellent education.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, both of whom are Gonzales ISD students, and 3 dogs. Live music runs deep in her roots thanks to her Czech heritage, so on a perfect day, you can find her outside listening to music and laughing with her extended family.

While life had other plans for her right out of high school, her children and husband motivated her to go back to college and get her degree so she could do what she loved. She graduated in 2017 with her B.S. in Accounting and continues to earn certifications in her field.

Her love of accounting may have brought her to school finance, but the reason she walks into work every day far exceeds just a love of the job- she believes her purpose is far greater than the numbers. She’s here to help ensure that students are provided a quality education.

Sarah was born in Germany, grew up in Bastrop, and attended school in College Station where she met her husband and moved to his hometown of Gonzales to raise their three children. She always envisioned working for GISD and considers herself extremely blessed to be a part of this district. Her core mission here is to grow in her field and serve others well.

Outside of work, you will mostly find Sarah spending time with her children at all of their extracurricular events. She also delights in serving her community and has spent much of her time supporting her church and other local non-profits.

Favorite quote, “At the end of the day, it is not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished. It’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you have given back.”
