    How does the Gonzales ISD Education Foundation benefit the community?

    The education foundation inspires parents and community members to participate with the school system to enrich education. It also builds community support and positive attention for GISD.

    We already pay taxes. Why should we donate to the Gonzales ISD Education Foundation?

    Tax dollars support mandated education. Foundation funding enhances the educational system, making it possible to offer Gonzales ISD students the highest quality educational opportunities and experiences. It also provides teachers with a source other than classroom or department budgets for funding innovative programs, and serves as another source for professional development needs.

    Who controls the Gonzales ISD Education Foundation?

    The Foundation is governed by an independent, volunteer Board of Directors including business and community leaders, parents and alumni in the Gonzales community who are committed to our schools’ success. While the Foundation operates independently of Gonzales ISD, it shares a vision of educational excellence and student achievement. The corporation is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation shall receive and disburse funds, property and gifts of any kind exclusively for the benefit of Gonzales Independent School District.

    How can I invest in the GISD Education Foundation?

    Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. There are a variety of ways to contribute, including individual or business gifts, in-kind gifts, and honorary or memorial gifts.
